Requirements
The Senior Materials Manager will oversee interfacility logistics and materials, COS Fundamentals implementation, and inventory analytics teams while spearheading crucial improvements to business processes and systems functionality. Collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders and peers in operations and supply chain, they'll design and execute processes ensuring manufacturing operations have timely access to the necessary parts, optimizing capital investment and material overhead.
They'll lead transformative changes in our supply chain process, maximizing the capabilities of our ERP system, automating supply chain transactions, and introducing Kanban material pull, all while streamlining material storage space.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the Corporate Cycle Count Program to ensure compliance with accounting policies related to production inventory accuracy and auditability.
Managing metrics and actions for aging exception transactions, including receiving inspection, negative inventory, and non-nettable inventory.
Identifying and resolving material constraints such as space, equipment, and labor.
Monitoring departmental budget performance.
Driving continuous process improvement, challenging existing processes for efficiency enhancement.
Implementing kanban material pull across the internal supply chain and advocating kanban processes with external suppliers.
Conducting data analysis and reporting key performance indicators like material delivery performance, supplier conformance, material dwell time, and inventory turns.
Developing efficient material handling processes, including improving material receiving operations using Advance Ship Notices (ASNs), 3-way match, and one-piece flow.
Leading strategic initiatives and succession planning for the department.
Being accountable for the budget within the area.
Developing and documenting business processes for the area.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain is required, with a preference for a Master's degree.
5-7 years of related experience.
Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with visual management systems and one-piece flow processes.
Expertise in MRP and related systems administration.
Preferred for Manager, required for Senior Level:
APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) required or a commitment to obtain within the first 18 months of employment.
Experience in establishing Kanban inventory management processes.
Strong presentation skills and business acumen, with the ability to communicate concisely at all organizational levels and externally.
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership ability, and the capability to manage the needs of others.
Proficiency in data access and retrieval, with extensive experience in data analysis and manipulation using MS Excel, MS PowerBI, MS Access, or other provided tools.
