Education/Experience:


- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, engineering documents, and using precision measuring tools.

- Skilled in operating all tools and equipment in the department, including glass bead and carboblast machines.

- Basic understanding of shop math.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in one of the following areas or related fields: sheet metal work, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, troubleshooting electrical systems, battery servicing, or APU removal, installation, and servicing.

Position Purpose:

Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.


Essential Functions:


- Apply basic and advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment specific to the area of specialization.

- Conduct repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies by removing, repairing, or replacing defective parts, fabricating replacement parts, and installing components according to specified guidelines.

- Ensure that all repairs meet conformance standards as per Repair Station requirements.

- Set up, maintain, and operate necessary test equipment for conducting functional and operational tests on mechanical and electrical aircraft components.

- Inspect detail parts using blueprints, manuals, and maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met.

- Perform skin and component removal and installation on flight controls and secondary structure components.

- Utilize effective repair techniques including troubleshooting, soldering, and applying protective coatings.

- Maintain accurate paperwork in compliance with FAA Repair Station requirements.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to environmental health and safety regulations.


Additional Functions:


- Lay out, remove, fabricate, and install major and minor repairs to flight controls and secondary structure components using techniques such as honeycomb core sandwich construction and composite repair.

- Fabricate and repair sheet metal and associated mechanical parts using mechanical methods such as rolling, shrinking, stretching, braking, and riveting.

- Remove and install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models.

- Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses using approved processes such as splicing, soldering, and pinning.

- Troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and systems during the component repair process using training and tools.

- Assist in training and instructing Aircraft Component Repair I Techs.

- Resolve routine questions and problems, escalating more complex issues to higher levels.

- Perform any other duties as assigned.
